A Little About Me:
I'm on a mission....
It's no secret that our country needs its next generations to be caring, innovative, adventurous, and resourceful forward thinkers! At the risk of sounding grandiose, the future of the United States really is in the hands of our children!
But there I was, stuck changing diapers and making flowers out of tiny footprints to send home with my daycare kiddos at the end of the day... I had so much training and experience in teaching littles, so much wisdom and raw talent for helping babies and toddlers become deep thinkers and amazing problem solvers, and in some cases, early readers... but the opportunities for actually using these skills to help my students develop their intelligence were very few and far between. Daycares and learning centers try their best to choose great curricula and well-trained, dedicated teachers, but buildings and code licensing and water and lights all cost money, so the classrooms end up packed to capacity, and the teachers are lucky to get 5 minutes a day with each child.
I thought I might get more teaching time with just one toddler as a nanny, and I did, but I was only helping one child, and doing so around making him meals, getting him dressed, and cleaning and organizing the house. I needed to find a way to just focus on giving as many littles as possible my undivided teaching attention. And so, My Circle Time was born! :)
