Sessions
What does a My Circle Time
Mobile Fun and Learning Program session
look like?
- The teacher arrives at your door 5 to 10 minutes before the scheduled session with a cart full of particular materials for that day and a bright and happy face!
- The child helps the teacher set up the My Circle Time circle in an area of the house chosen by the parent or other caregiver with a floor covering and a small, soft, colorful rope. (The more children there are, the faster this goes!)
- The child is invited to sit in the circle with the teacher. The teacher formally welcomes the child, names the day, date, and weather, and "chats" a little with the child, whether the child is preverbal or fully articulate.
- The teacher leads the child in 4 or 5 songs and rhymes with motions.
- The teacher reads a book to the child, and guides a discussion about it afterward. If the child is interested, the teacher and the child will act out the story, playing different roles.
- The teacher will then set out puzzles or other skill-development activities for the child to work on while the teacher sets up a sensory activity for the child.
- The teacher will start the child in the sensory activity, clean up from the previous activity, and then re-join the child to give language and help the child explore the sensory item.
- The teacher will transition the child into an art activity, clean up from the sensory activity, and then join the child in the art activity, announcing that Circle Time is almost done for that day, and it will be time for the teacher to leave soon.
- The teacher will pack up the circle and all of the materials with the possible exception of art supplies the child may still be using. The teacher will say goodbye and leave, possibly leaving behind art supplies. (It's okay; there are lots more where they came from! ;) )

My Circle Time PLUS
Your kiddo gets the songs and other fun stuff of a regular My Circle Time session, but the second half of the hour is dedicated to deeper, child-led, teacher-guided explorations of paradigmatic subjects of interest such as Light, Motion, Change, and Human Behavior.
(Due to the intimate attention this type of learning requires, the second half hour of these sessions is necessarily limited to a 1:1 student-teacher ratio).
